It's the end of summer, and the Ann Arbor Art Fair is in full swing. When some teenagers lose an important ring through a fairy door, they enlist the help of the fairy Mariposa, shrink to the size of bugs, and travel to Fairyland to get it back. But it won't be so easy. Mariposa's sister, Spiderella, has evil plans in store for Fairyland.

With a little help from The Beetles, Katydid Perry, and other six-legged friends, the kids must adventure through Fairyland to retrieve the ring and save the day!

Meet the Fairyologist!

Ann Arbor's resident fairyologist Jonathan Wright will sell and sign his books and posters at the Friday and Saturday night shows. He will also donate 20% of his proceeds to the Thurston PTO. Find our more about the fairy doors at urban-fairies.com and follow the Urban Fairies on Facebook.

Thurston Players is a unique Ann Arbor community theater group dating back to 1974. That year a group of Thurston Elementary School parents decided to write and perform an original musical comedy to benefit the Thurston PTO. Now volunteers gather annually to create an original plot for the play, select songs, write lyrics, and choreograph dance numbers, all leading up to three exciting performances of this original musical comedy each March.

Originally the cast consisted of Thurston parents, teachers and other adult neighbors. In 1997 Thurston students joined the cast. As these children grew up and went on to middle school, high school and even college, some returned to participate in the plays, making this a truly multi-generational group.

Now a typical cast runs well over 100 actors ranging from age 5 to 70, along with many other volunteers who work backstage and in other production areas.
